Starting the next project Global Scale's B-61 and I'm using the Montone dump body from the Autocar , I might do it as a "repower" with a ENDT675 if the turbo clears,,I have some parts and some in the pipeline. Thinking black with a red frame or maroon/burgundy with a black frame and gold lettering/pinstripes. See what happens...........

Ok,so everything seems pretty good so far,the 675 should fit no problem, the B fits good on the R chassis and I can use the R cab mounts.I narrowed down the R's radiator so it would fit the B's radiator shell,,I filled the gaps on both ends with thin Evergreen sheet and trimmed to the same profile as the rad. Initial measurement for the dump body to cab clearance allowing for the stack and everything shows just a bit of frame lengthening might be needed. I may go with the round fuel tanks with the steps built in that are in the R's kit,,not sure yet . I have 6 spoke Auslowe wheels for this and Jamie's tires. I decided to go with a red cab/black fenders, black dump body and red frame. Going to try and do my own "gold leaf" decals . I have Model Car Garage piano hinge for the butterfly hood,, that should challenge my eyesight!  lol

OH, Yeah!  Boston had a bunch of them.  Glad to see that the back of the cab is not indented like what was done for the tractors.

Global makes nice stuff, I got the same cab from them at NNL as well!

When I was fire chief of our volunteer department, we had a Bermuda cab on a Thibault/ FWD pumper. But, being in the mountains, we got lots of snow, and the canvas top was long gone by the time we got her, so we took a cab roof and doors from a Dodge LCF truck I had for parts at my shop and made her cab weather tight. Was nicer to use for sure!

..........sprinkled on some Maxidyne Gold ,,,have to detail paint/ add wiring-alternator and some other bits ..................I'm going with polished aluminum round fuel tanks I think that will go well with the red frame/red cab-black fenders/black dump body . The frame is stretched and reinforced with c channel inserts ,,just have to dab some filler on the parting lines,, probably add a crossmember in there too

..............a little primer ,a few print lines have to be sanded/filled and some ejector pin marks I missed on the dump body,,a little more on the engine and chassis. Been all over the innerweb looking for some Mack interior green,,,this Mr Color is close ,but not exact

.............took a ride up to Chestertown N.Y. EMS to pick up a rig today,,4 hours up 4 hours back up the NY Thruway,,thru the Adirondacks......part time/full time guy ,,lol ....anyway did a bit on the Mack,,made an oil bath air cleaner from some of the R model kit -cut that down and shortened the top inlet and added a piece from an Auslowe Donaldson air cleaner ,,massaging the hood, going to use piano hinge and have to do latches. Probably shoot some black on the dump body this weekend

I love these old B series . I wonder how many of the new young truck drivers know what an ‘oil bath’ air cleaner is?  They were just being phased out when I started driving.  Oh, the good old days. Love this build.  It is going to be a beauty.
