Probably shoot some black on the dump body this weekend Hey Scott You should use the hinges I used on my Autocar build, they will work way better then those fiddly model car garage ones, they are to delicate. Go to Micromark for the little hinges. Ron G 1

I used that hinge on my 1/16 Peterbilt 359. As you can see it's perfect for 1/16 scale but a triffle large for 1/25-24 scales. Ron G Edited May 15 by ShakyCraftsman 1

I figured I'll see what it looks like only dimension was .360 opened so it's a guess how it will look on the butterfly hood,,,I have the ones you have to use if it looks too big

As long as the pops aren't under the paint! lol,,,yeah even though the black shows all the sins ,,,it should look good with the red cab/frame and chrome radiator shell/aluminum tanks .I think I'll do the rims white and the cast spokes will be red with the frame 1

If you happen to have your B-61 frame on its side while you're working on it, it would be cool to see a pic how you choose to attach the two stage pump to the frame (just curious, for future reference!) 1

Brian,I took a piece of rectangular tubing and sliced it about a 30 degree angle at the pump end,,sorta making it like angular reinforcements ,and drilled a hole where the pto shaft would go thru .The other end is attached to the crossmember I added at the frame stretch point . I'll make sure and take a picture next round 1 1
Scott Eriksen Posted May 25 Author Posted May 25 Here's a pic of the underpinnings...I did a bit of black wash on some stuff ,,,probably going with a theme of a "clean but somewhat normal dirt and grime working restored repowered 1965 Mack B-61 dump truck" lol .Also put the decals I made on the doors,,,,considering I had to hand paint the "gold leaf" in my black outline it didn't come out too bad ,,,should show up better on the panels I'm doing for the dump body .I might clear coat the cab tonight so I can get rolling on assemby 2
Scott Eriksen Posted May 26 Author Posted May 26 .....................shot the clear...in the dehydrator as we speak,,,it really brought out the sparkly in the Tamiya Bright Mica Red 1
