brit Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Hello folks,building a similar Mercury to my avatar pic,this one a 4 wheel drive version,390 4speed long box.will be slightly custom(wheels,day 2 mods).mercury trucks had the same options available as their Ford brothers..as far as i know..

I started with the Moebius 68 Mercury kit and added frame and suspension/drivetrain from the Moebius 1970 f100 4x4 kit.I am using the AMT66 Fairlane GT/Comet FE 390/427 engine as I find it more accurate visually than the Moebius truck engine,especially the intake manifold.AMT did a good job replicating these FE engines.AMT's 1960 Starliner offers a fine FE replica engine also,both in dual 4' and tri-power induction..

When a person goes in and buys a brand new vehicle off the dealer lot,then he goes to his local aftermarket(or dealer)/speed shop and buys custom wheels,speed add ons like headers,racing stripes,bigger camshaft/carb etc,these are regarded as day 2 modifications, 1
