Warhammer Primarch's and a Kroot

Here are the things that occupy my time that are not model cars these days.

We have Robute Guilliman, Primarch of the 13th legion of space Marines, the Ultramarines. Next up is Konrad Curze. Primarch ( And now dead) of the 8th Legion of space Marines, the Night Lords.

Lastly we have a Kroot warrior. These are the tiny things I paint these days.

I wish him good fortune on his journey. Having a few key items will surely see his success. Great lighting, superb brushes, and do not spare on the paints. Either Vallejo, AK or Citadel are really some of the only choices. The new range from Army Painter is also excellent. I suggest watching lots of painting tutorials as well. There are a lot of master painters willing to share their secrets. A great resource I have used myself

LOL, now the student is the Master.

He has chosen well as far as paint is concerned. He sounds well on his way.

I am going to use this thread as a place to show my miniatures. Instead of one new thread after another and clogging everything up. As much as I enjoy sharing my work, I also don't want to ruffle feathers with constantly new threads.

Here is a 10 man squad of World Eater Khorne Berzerkers. Traitor Marines who follow the Blood God Khorne. As you can imagine they play aggressively. You get up in an opponents grill with these bad boys. They excell at close quarters combat.

I had purchased a large lot of Ral Partha or D&D figures if you prefer. In that lot we're some truly superb and hard to find figures. But lo and behold at the bottom of the box was this lone metal, square based Ork from Games Workshop. These sell for a bit on the card but since he was not, it was only right I painted him to hang out with various figures on my studio's "Wall of Heroes" shelf. He is painted in the Evil Sunz tribe colors. This thing is tiny in comparison to modern day Warhammer Ork models. They have shown significant size creep over the last decade. He truly looks like a Grot when standing next to a modern Ork model. Enjoy.

Here are two Kingdom Death game models. Yes, the blue gal has a man's beating heart in her fist. The devilish girl is, well... Devilish. It was the pumpkin and choice of cushion that made my gal insist I get it.

Then we have Warhammer pieces. First is a Space Marine Chaplain, then a Sister of Battle or Sororitas. Last is a Noise Marine. I bought that one for the 80s vibe he gives off. And a Space Marine with an electric guitar is for me, a No Brainer

Howdy. My dad mentioned the thread and shared some of your photos with me.  I decided to materialize to show a few of mine.  

I'm a much better painter than photographer unfortunately. I paint more than I ever play and I'm mostly interested in older figures. I'm not a fan of the scale/detail creep and much prefer the style that comes with lumpy hand sculpting.  

If I'm not mistaken your flail wielding orc up there is actually from Heartbreaker but was sculpted by The Goblinmaster, Kev Adams, who is responsible for most of GW's orcs style. They're still produced in resin through Impact! Miniatures if you ever decide you need to fill in the set.

Those are truly EPIC! If only we had met 3 or 4 months ago. I had all those figures and sold them. I would have sent a bunch your way for sure.

Your work is excellent and your Dad is very proud and I can see why.

I'll dig around and see what I can find. I always have extra stuff laying around and they would certainly benefit from your talented brush.

This is Bruce. He is a figure from the Finding Nemo movie. Named for the shark in Jaws, he is a recovering killer trying to change his life around.

I found him at my local convenience store along with Rozz from Monsters Inc. I am currently repainting her but that's for another day.

So Bruce was in a blister pack and was light blue. That is screen accurate but not where I wanted to go. I wanted nature accurate. So some acrylic paints and a few sessions later and here we have a nature accurate Bruce.

I adore Bruce as well.

I saw Jaws in the theaters all those decades ago. It put me on the path to learning everything there was to know about sharks. White sharks in particular.

Over the years we have learned much. Despite what shark week and various other sensationalized programming have shown, we do know a great deal about these creatures. Its always the same line. "The Great White is an enigma among the oceans dwellers". "We know very little about this animal and it's life".

Which is all rubbish. We know more about White sharks than many other species in the oceans. I live near the Cape here in Massachusetts. I have been to the White Shark Conservancy twice. Met Dr Skomal and some of the students who go there. I have been on a White Shark sightseeing tour. Saw a couple and one was truly huge.

The Grey Seal population growth and their subsequent protection rang the dinner bell for adult sharks to make the trek up the coast where they feed all summer. The beaches here are now almost unswimmable. The sharks are here and more come every year. But the tourism for seeing them has also grown significantly. Ultimately it has been great for the sharks. And the conservation efforts in place may one day see them taken off the endangered list.

DANG Bob!!! Man this is some really neat stuff that you've got going on in this thread brother. You've definitely got a knack for painting and detailing up these small figurines and I've gotta say that this is truly inspiring work. Glad to see you back in the communities good buddy. You've been missed.

 I missed the place. I see there are quite a few no longer posting. I've been here quite a long time and people come and go. Even I did. I would look in now and again not signed in. But it was time to return. Is been busy while I was gone as you can see. Thanks for the compliment

 I have lots more but I don't want to overwhelm the thread. A little here and there. Moderation.
