Adding on to scratch building one, you can get a parts manual for a 1801 Holmes online for free, finding measurements may be a harder task. Either way this would be a fun build to watch.

How about scratch building one??  Get some photos, Holmes info or measurements and go at it!  😎

I tried that already Charles,,,I've contacted Miller Industries who bought out Holmes ,,,can't help me ,,,I went so far as to contact the Towing Museum in Chattanooga Tennessee ...old brochures/pictures/sales literature is no problem . If it comes down to it I would scratchbuild ,,but some dimensions would be nice ,,,,I went through this with the FDNY and my Autocar wrecker

It would be hard to give you accurate measurements without those darn plans.  Best a person might do is to scale everything off the height of your General's cab and then work out the measurements off these photos, using the cab height as the benchmark measurement.

Those last photos should be of some help.  When you compare the height of the cab to the wrecker frame there is some consistency.  If you can find one or two dimensions that are relatively proportional you might be off to a start.  Other pieces that you can see in the closeups can be made to fit pretty close.

I asked a local wrecker collector this morning when I saw him at an antique truck show.  He has 4+ buildings of wreckers but not one with an 1801.  He didn't know of anyone in the Northeast with one, as you already know they didn't make many and when they wore out they were scrapped.  If someone is going to the big show in Macungie, PA next weekend, maybe they could ask around.  I doubt I'll go this year, forecast is calling for rain on Sat (which would make 14 or 15 in a row).

Thanks for the help Warren,,, I'm still trying! Maybe I should try and reach out to Jamie Davis Towing! The boom is not too different than the one on the Revell kit I used for the FDNY truck other than the lift cylinder placement,, I could probably try and get another but that's a lot of $$$$ for just a few usable bits

Last I had seen, Jamie sold the General a couple of years back, to someone in the USA IIRC.  An internet search might reveal who bought it.
