GeorgeA Posted June 6 Posted June 6 This is my version of the AMT 1978 Ford 4x4 pickup model kit. I really like the paint style of these 70's trucks, the two tones they often had, unfortunately the paint job didn't turn out very well but I tried to show the original paint style according to the body, this body doesn't look like it's from 1978 (it doesn't have the molding that runs along the bottom of the body) it's more from 1976, so I should have left only the white color under the molding. Initially I had built it as a 4x2 but the long bed didn't look good because it was too low, I rebuilt it as a 4x4 and it is definitely more interesting that way, the Firestone tires suggest that the most appropriate thing is to build the model kit as a highboy, for the body I used Tamiya TS 19 (Metallic Blue) and Tamiya TS 26 (Pure White) while the 460 V8 engine was painted with Tamiya X 14 (Sky Blue), I think that an expert modeler would be able to get the full potential of the model kit by incorporating parts that give it greater realism, a separate comment is that I would like our friends at Round 2 to launch a long bed version of a 1978 Chevrolet pickup like they did with Ford and Dodge, I appreciate all your comments and the time you take to look at this modest work. 6
