Fujimi makes the 180SX. I've built one of those in black a while ago. No longer have it. I'm afraid I havent' even really started my Smonda for this drift car build-off. Well, except for the primer and paint of main body. Still need to get the proper carbon-fiber decals for it. Dad and I are heading to California this week driving two cars each with a trailer behind it, and will probably be gone for about 10 day's or so. I still have not yet finished my KS 911 and probably wont' be able to till Dad heads back to Florida. Hopefully he'll take his puppy with him this time so me and the cat will have some peace! LOL!

Will report on progress of coarse!

So far I like the green and chrome machine! Really nice work with the BMF, if this was a contest, I'd say he's already won!

I have made some progress on my driftShelby. Unfortunetly my camera died so I havent been able to post updated pics until now.

Got the chassis finished up. I will install the frt ssuspension after the body is on so I cen set the ride height.

HPIM0596.jpg

Got my rollcage finished up and painted.

HPIM0592.jpg

The dash with my carbon fiber radio/HVAC delete plate installed. I used MCG PE racing pedals.

HPIM0597.jpg

The rear seat delete is finished and installed

HPIM0593.jpg

Heres a mockup of the interior, the seats still need to be finished with CF decals for the seat backs, and I will add some Crazy Modeler PE racing harnesses.

That's a Tamiya 180SX with an out-of-production Scale Auto Style Bomex resin transkit. Tamiya's 180 if better than Fujimi's in my opinion but it's harder to find than Fujimi's kit.

ok, its a late entry, and i didnt consider entering til now. i'd say its only about 20% complete, but i started it only about 2 weeks ago, so it was started after the buildoff did... i hope it counts!!! :D

Ok, its Revell's 1969 Nissan 240Z. it should be fairly obvious that the 240Z is capable of drifing and its no doubt that the engine has been in countless high-dollar and garage built drift cars. My 240Z sports a highly modified RB26DETT engine refitted with a single large turbo, RB25 transmission (RWD not AWD), blow off valve, (was a recirc valve, but i hated how it looked), externally mounted waste gate, custom exhaust and muffler. estimated to be pushing 32psi and HP range in the 700-800 at the wheels. wheels are, i believe, from revells 1979 camaro Z28 on the 240Z kit tires. its lowered as much as physically possible. because of being lowered, i had to fudge the exhaust a little and "run it through the cabin" in order to not be dragging it on the ground.

the engine i got for free from a user on hyperscale.com. this alone took almost a week to buil, until i decided to try again with different turbo locations as the intake piping was not allowing the hood to close. still not done with the engine as i still need to add an independant oil system, with oil cooler, dedicated to the turbo only, and a trans mission and rear diff cooler along with miscellaneous engine bay plumbing.

The body needs a lot of work before going for paint. theres seam lines all over, and the "Datsun", "240Z" emblems and the antenna and misc. bumps are going to be sanded smooth. unsure of the color but the wheels will stay gold, and get a black wash to bring out the mesh detail.

Its not the best scratchbuilt intercooler, but give me a break, its only my second build with HEAVY scratchbuilding.

aaahhh.... just imagine it... 750whp on a 2000lb car with zero downforce... i love it!

thats a pretty sweet mill you got there

i would consider buillding a CAI you would not beleive how hot it gets over there by the turbo :D

you do realise your gonna get a CEL with that BOV right ?

the MAF is expecting to see more air coming in then you will actually have because the BOV is releasing to the atmosphere air that the MAF all ready measured :D

i did some work on my truck today but nothing on the drifter

hopefully this wednesday

took your advice and added a cold air intake, and move the BOV closer to the intercooler. thanks for your advice!

Is It too late to start buiilding for this one, I've been packing and moving for the last month and havent been able to pay much mind to the site. What is the dead line? I've got a "Miss Deal" body that would great for kit bashing together.
