Planning a Trip to Germany — Any Model Exhibitions Worth Visiting?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a trip to Germany sometime soon, and I’m really interested in checking out some model exhibitions while I’m there. I’m into military models, railway models, and other scale models, so I was wondering if anyone knows about any good model shows or fairs happening in Germany?

From what I’ve heard, Germany has some big events like INTERMODELLBAU Dortmund, Modellbau Bremen, and Faszination Modellbau Friedrichshafen. Has anyone been to these or other exhibitions? How are they? Are they worth visiting for a model enthusiast?
Any tips on when and where to go, and maybe some advice on what else to check out nearby, would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much—that looks incredible! I’ve seen a few videos of Miniatur Wunderland before, but I had no idea just how massive and detailed it really is. Definitely adding it to my itinerary now. Have you been there yourself? Any tips for first-time visitors?

Also, do you happen to know of any model exhibitions in Germany where visitors can actually bring and display their own models? I'd love to participate if there's a chance!

When do you want to come to Germany?

We had our show on June 21 in Bruehl/Germany 

There are a several shows here in Germany.

From my experiences the follwing shows a worth a visit:

• Sep. 20/21 - 34. Modellbauausstellung des PMC Main-Kinzig (Military/Planes/Figures/Cars/Trucks)
• Sep. 20/21 - Modellautoausstellung in Hanau  (Cars/Trucks - The best cars and truck show in Germany)
• 0ct. 30 - 30. Jahresausstellung des PMC Saar (Military/Planes/Figures/Cars/Trucks)
• Oct. 25/26 - 16. Modellbauausstelllung des Modellbauclubs Koblenz (Military/Planes/Figures/Cars/Trucks)

Regarding the big shows:

1. The Intermodellbau is mainly a show for railway modeling, rc-models. There is only one club that shows scale models like car, trucks, planes.  I had organised a club booth for my local club at Intermodellbau for a couple of years. But over the years plastic modeling had dropped down to a minimum so that isn't interesting for me anymore. But that is my personal opinion. If you have never been to the show yes it is worth to spend a few hours there.
2. More plastic modeling is represented at the Fazination Modellbau in Friedichshafen. This show has also modellers from Switzerland and Austria as participants

1. Intermodellbau 主要是铁路模型和遥控模型的展会。只有一家俱乐部会展示汽车、卡车、飞机等比例模型。我之前在 Intermodellbau 为我当地的俱乐部组织过一个展位，已经有好几年了。但这些年来，塑料模型的市场已经萎缩到最低，所以我对它已经提不起兴趣了。不过这只是我个人的看法。如果你没去过 Intermodellbau，花几个小时去逛逛还是值得的。
2. 腓特烈港的Fazination Modellbau展会上展出了更多塑料模型。瑞士和奥地利的模型师也参与了此次展会。
