Mostly from the 70's. Decals are goners. He did mention that the cars has served their time well, and is due for an upgrade. I might start off with the beemer. What do you guys think?

E-Man, it's good to see where your talent and enthusiasm come from! Ol Pop ain't too bad the builder,Eh? They look good ta me, even if the decals are a little worn. I 'specially like the last little blue one. It SAYS Toyota, but it LOOKS like one of them old IMSA Mustang Racers. I know, caz I got an IMSA Mustang from Shane(TX Rat) inna trade and THAT'S what I thought it was. Even if it DOES say Toeota! B)

Eric, had those cars run in a race, I bet they would have suffered the same damage. Hey leave well enough alone and preserve their heritage as you can remember your dad from his builds ! Ed Shaver

You guys really got me thinking.

@ Eshaver

If I were to preserve the car, how much longer can it last? At the rate this is going, I'd say it can last for another 10-20 years. But the tires are giving way. I need to find some good replacement tires. And then the Countach's rear spoiler. I also have to find a way to fabricate the missing part. The black color around the arches will be repainted.

@ george 53

The reason why they look so good is because my dad did not paint 'em. He did it 100% OOB. :P At that time, paint were hard to come by, and the prices were very high. The blue one is a Celica. Quite an old one. Notice the ERTL wording beside the bug "56" ? I wonder if it refers to AMT/ERTL.

I wanted to get him the Tamiya Honda CR-X Mugen Ballade Sports for his birthday last year, but still could not locate one. Fathers' Day is coming, and I might not get it in time. B)

It was me who destroyed his long time ago, when I was way too small to understand the modeling mumbo jumbo.

I'd leave them as they are and store them in a inglassed cabinet. Your dad built them and if those were my dad's builds I would leave them as my dads builds. For me it would be something to remember him and his history of building by. I wish I had some of the models my dad built in the early 60's but heck they are long long gone, just my opinion.
