Lacquers over Tamiya TS paints

Hi All

Wondering if anyone has had any experience of using non Tamiya lacquer on Tamiya TS paints? I have applied Tamiya light metallic blue to a Sunbeam Alpine kit, which is my next build and hurriedly (not waiting for the delivery of my Tamiya Lacquer) applied Halfords acrylic lacquer acknowledging same paints match... (acrylic to acrylic etc)but found that although the Halfords paint looked very glossy as it was drying.. once it was dry it was a lot dryer. I also tried Promatic acrylic lacquer which I have had great results with before but experienced the same problem.

 

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've used duplicolour over tamiya but that was with duplicolour primer too and i gave it a day or two between coats. i havent chanced it with tamiya primer too

it did but it was with duplicolour primer too and sat a couple days between paint types. i suspect it wouldn't work with hobby primers

I use duplicolor clear acrylic lacquer over tamiya colors all the time.
