Jürgen M. Posted Monday at 03:57 AM Posted Monday at 03:57 AM Nice! A great idea. Can't remember having seen a garbage truck being built here. Front row! 2
Biggu Posted Monday at 04:06 AM Posted Monday at 04:06 AM Front row for me too! Another conversion. Sweet. This will be a great build and really fun. I will be looking forward to the updates. 1

Warren D Posted Tuesday at 05:50 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:50 PM I had done my Brockway COE with the Keystone Leach packer about 3 years ago: You will likely need a longer chassis than the Mack kit has or will need to stretch it. With these packers, there is a lot of empty space in the front of the body, lots of weight in the rear even before the garbage is added. Point is, you don't want too much body overhang in the rear.

Already figured in as far as the frame stretch . I have the 361 Brockway ,will most likely get a 6-71 Detroit and the Montone dump body from the A-car kit 1

I built a 361 with Montone dump for one of the annual build offs, might have been 2022. 1
Warren D Posted Tuesday at 08:07 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:07 PM (edited) Just curious, do you have a source for the Brockway fuel tanks and battery box/airtank? My build thread for the 361 dump: Edited Tuesday at 08:16 PM by Warren D

I was referring to the DM 600 and the frame stretch for that,,but yeah when I get to the Brockway build I would use the A-car stuff ,,except with the Detroit

Jürgen M. Posted Wednesday at 04:44 AM Posted Wednesday at 04:44 AM They are Mack tanks! Mack used a lot of their own parts on Brockway to save money after they purchased the brand! Popcorn and beer are ready, .... 2

Yes, the Brockway fuel tanks are close to Mack tanks but the earlier 300 series trucks tanks look a little different than the Mack. I'm also going by the tanks and batt boxes I got from Dave at AITM which seem to look like those I see on Brocks at truck shows. 1

Warren ,,here's what Karl gave me ,,cab/interior/hood/bumper/headlights/grille/2 fuel tanks/air cleaner/luberfiner/windows.......... I compared the fuel tanks with ones from the R685 and the Brocks are a lot smaller ,they have two chassis brackets each molded in 1

Great job bud! a lot of the hydraulics on Karl's are molded in,,,I'll see what I can do to improve on that , the LEACH nameplate on yours,,did you make that,,decal ? 1
gotnitro? Posted yesterday at 04:35 AM Posted yesterday at 04:35 AM Thanks, yup the Leach placard was just a decal. I was originally planning to use a Keystone body,, but ended up building my own as a personal challenge. Cant wait to see your progress 1
Firebuilder Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Scott, looks like this will be a nice build ! I remember almost all of the garbage trucks around Essex county were leach and Mack chassis. But that was a few decades ago, lol. I think I may have to place an order with Global for some cabs. Dom 1
