M W Elky Posted Sunday at 01:13 AM Posted Sunday at 01:13 AM (edited) I built this from the fantastic Möbius kit as I have been waiting pretty much my whole modeling career for someone to produce 1965 Awb mopars so here we go . The kit builds up rather nicely although the windows are a little fussy I cut the alinement tabs off the bottom of the side glass before gluing them in this procedure worked really good to ease the fineal assembly . As for the decals there are tons of reference photos on line for the placement of them . With all the aftermarket ones available you can hardly go wrong the options are there for either early mid or late season. As these cars raced 4-6 days a week they changed often . So with that said there are no right or wrong choices when it comes to markings and wheel choices. I did find it interesting that about mid to late in the year they changed from autolight to champion spark plugs. My dad always used champions on his 64 super stock dodge . As a warning these Awb mopar kits are highly addictive so buy as many as you can , and all the decals you can find . The version on the front of the magazine was sporting carburetors, and from what I understand is that sometimes they would change back and forth between injection and carburetors depending on who they were match racing. Here’s the parts breakdown and yes at some point down the road I will go back and glue in either head lights or covers Mobius 1965 Golden Commandos Awb Plymouth kit Revell 1964 Thunderbolt kit : Keystone wheels Tamyia paint : white , Italian red , clear Testors paint; star spangled blue slixx : decals , the small Stewart Warner decal is from the amt twister Awb Chevy 2 parts box : fuel tank as always until next time thanks for looking, mike Edited Sunday at 08:04 AM by M W Elky Added content 7

Mike 1017 Posted Sunday at 03:58 PM Posted Sunday at 03:58 PM Another Great build of a Historic NHRA Legend. What was the F/X Controversy between FOMOCO and MOPAR? Mike
