philo426 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) Here are a few pics of the body parts after painting,(The color is a custom=mixed blend of Tamiya Red ,White and Black I call Monson Maroon) Edited May 16, 2009 by philo426
Chuck Most Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I've got a few of these kits stashed away, as well as a couple Monogram '41's. I really like the "Monsoon Maroon"!
philo426 Posted May 30, 2009 Author Posted May 30, 2009 Just a minor update(Haven't worked on it much due to other priorities).Installed the engine, front and rear suspension components.Next up;I have to fabricate exhaust manifolds and cross-over pipes to tie in with the exhaust system.
philo426 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 Here is one of the completed exhaust manifolds.I made it out of an old sprue and used sheet plastic to enlarge the exhaust flanges.(They may have to be enlarged).I painted then rust colored which is realistic for an un-restored example .I may paint them steel to represent a restored, hot tanked exhaust manifold.
philo426 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 Here is the completed crossover pipe installed.Next I have to use the Testor's Burnt metal to match the exhaust manifolds.
Eshaver Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Here is the completed crossover pipe installed.Next I have to use the Testor's Burnt metal to match the exhaust manifolds. Seems you finially beat me at one of my own games, trying to match paint colors ! Just how or where did you manage to match the paint on the block sir ? We Early Ford Enthusiasts want to know ............. Long live FLAT HEADS ! Ed Shaver
philo426 Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 Well I started with Tamiya Deep Green(XF-26) and added Tamiya Flat White(XF-2) until it mached the color of the Engine of the '48 Lincoln that I found on the internet.
