Lemcoplasticworks Posted Friday at 04:01 AM Posted Friday at 04:01 AM At a little stand still on my other build so decided to start on another one but this one is a 65 model. I started shaving stuff on the cab at some point in time. I've took off the smoothed firewall I originally added on and sectioned a spare 60's bed side to continue the body design completely around. I still have some work to do with it but going to wait till I have a motor just I don't end up having to redo stuff later for clearance. I cut opened the grille so I can add mesh to it later on when it's finished but also took down the back side of it a good bit "Random thought I had" And it looks really good sucked in a little bit now that I see it done. Was originally going with a molded in front bumper look like I've done on my 60 Chevy but think I'll cut it out and run a stock bumper either smoothed and painted or smoothed out and re-chromed just so they aren't too much of the same. I will be molding the grille into the front end but just enough to fill the gaps and not to take away from the overall appearance too much. I don't have much plans in mind for this one yet but it'll definitely be unique in the end. 7
TopherMcGinnis Posted Friday at 05:39 PM Posted Friday at 05:39 PM I had a long bed '65 20 years ago. I love these trucks. I've built a few with more in the que. I have one I opened the doors on, but can’t quite get the hinge geometry right. 2

HOLMES55 Posted Friday at 09:24 PM Posted Friday at 09:24 PM Is this the Revell 1966 fleetside? Looks like a nice kit. 1

It's a pretty good kit. I've only built one of them fully once so far but don't recall any major fitness issues or anything.

Lemcoplasticworks Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago Decided to have a small portion of the 65 hood molded into the body. But want to do something different with the actual hood part. Fitting a spare 70's c10 hood I have and I'm pretty conflicted with it. It shows that there could be some potential is the look with a bit more fitting and bodywork to match the 65 a bit better but I also feel by the time that's all said and done you probably wouldn't even be able to tell it has a 70's hood incorporated into it as well.. The other one is from the 60's Apache. It doesn't look that much different aside from where the ovals are. The size is dramatically smaller which kind of gives it a cool look but at the same time I just don't know. Would it look better filling in the old ovals or leaving them and incorporating this same look into the bed later on? 1
stitchdup Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago how about sticking with the 65 hood but adding the early centre to it?

I honestly may in the end if I can't seem to like where either idea is going. I like trying new stuff to just be a little different but sometimes those crazy ideas don't look as good as my head pictured it lol
BK9300 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I'll say it again - amazing creations you make. Don't how you manage to work on a few at a time and still have them all turn out well!
