1979 Ford F350 Dually

Start on a popular yet widely disliked kit. I started with Revell '56 F100 rear fenders, a 429 Cobra Jet block/4 speed transmission to make a more appropriate powertrain, and a few Mobius parts. The burrs on the dash have been trimmed and the dash edge properly beveled since these photos, and I may use a wood rimmed sport steering wheel as fitted to Mustangs, Gran Torinos and Broncos instead of the 2-spoke standard wheel.

2-tone gold/buff paint is Krylon main color/Tamiya accent color with silver marker trim in progress. Interior is colored with plastic trim panel dye.

Update. Engine is mostly together (still needs alternator, air conditioning pump, battery, wiper fluid reservoir, air filter & a few other things), cab is on the frame, interior is together, and glass is in. I will try to salvage a CAM2/Diehard decal from a Bobby Allison Matador decal sheet to use on the back window along with a couple of other contingency decals there & under the hood, and have yet to put together the driveline/transfer case/exhaust system, or put on the bed.

For such a reviled kit, I really don't think it's so bad, no worse than the Deserter/Sodbuster or Warlock/D100 reissues or the IHC Scouts AMT inherited from Ertl.
