bill-e-boy Posted Sunday at 08:11 AM Author Posted Sunday at 08:11 AM Just when you think you are done @Bullybeef releases a whole bunch of his bench squirrels down my way. Looking through the parts boxes of a stalled build and come across this. Now every race car needs a trailer. Not sure of the origins as I think it came with a pox of parts that was given to m many moons ago. I think it is AMT and more than likely to be as most of the parts in the box were AMT. In the purple pond at the moment. And I suppose I will need to find a suitable tow truck from the late 50's - early 60's to haul this lot around. A 53 F100 springs to mind first - I have never built one of those before 1 1
sidcharles Posted Sunday at 08:31 AM Posted Sunday at 08:31 AM the '53 Ford is an iconic model kit from AMT's heyday. ditto the trailer; been around for 60 years. there might be a set of ramps around in those boxes. i had one back when & painted it some awful, baby poop, butterscotch yellow on account of it's what i had. cannot remember the original kit. https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=AMT+trailer*
bill-e-boy Posted Sunday at 08:48 AM Author Posted Sunday at 08:48 AM Or this might be betterer methinks - dragged it off the shelf. Build was started way back in 2018. New topic started under Pickups Every thing period correct - Nailhead, big'n'little cross plies, Model A front axle, older rear axle - unfortunately out of quickies, sever chop n channel, zedded rear - keep an eye out of at the build thead 4

As the trailer is currently set up it will flop back and not sit on the hitch. 1
Mr. Metallic Posted Monday at 09:17 PM Posted Monday at 09:17 PM The trailer first appeared in the AMT 64 Vette convertible. Currently resides in the tooling for the Fireball 500, although they deleted the ramps. 1 1

I think it was in a box of bits of mostly AMT parts - mostly bits from when AMT kits were made down here in NZ circa 69-71. The Fireball was one of the kits available and I think it had a tandem wheel set from memory - this will be single axle

I have stripped the paint off and it now primed but it is never too late to change it .
