James2 Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Item number 2 of the hotel builds. Due to Tony K, I am also building the Oberto Hydroplane. In this case I’ll be brushing painting the engine and cockpit. I’ll smooth the bote up and spray it at home. I’m trying Vallejo paint for the first time, 1
Bainford Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Cool! I never heard of these kits until someone (you, perhaps) posted some in the 'What Did You Get' thread. I was hoping I would see a WIP on one of them. They are intriguing kits, looking forward to seeing your build-up.
James2 Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 The body, being two parts, did not fit well. The pins were too long and the locating holes were too small. I trimmed and enlarged them but the body seam still didn’t line me up as nicely as it could have. In hind sight I should have just cut the pins off and glued the two pieces together. 1 1
James2 Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 Working on the fuselage, I first sanded the seams with 100grit, now filled with Tamiya Putty. Probably wait until tomorrow to sand again. This hotel life isn't for everyone...
James2 Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 I purchased a two pin 100w bulb so I could see better. What it did was show a lot of needed filling and sanding. But hotel life has much time… 3
