When my dad built this kit he had to be about 17 or 18 years old and already owned his 64 super stock dodge . He said it was such a cool kit that was basically the same body style of his street car . Because the Ramchargers car was white he saw no reason to waste paint on the body . So he painted the engine and the interior then on went the decals . On the shelf it went . I inherited this car when he gave me his collection in 1984 . Then it moved to my shelf where it has lived ever since . To get it ready for photos I cleaned the years of dust and cigarette smoke discoloring with my favorite cleaner Meguiar’s spray quick wax . I left the original 59 years of dust on the interior , and the decals show their original patina. I can still faintly smell the cigarette smell on it. It now provides endless happy memories of the builder my dad .  This kit has good relevance   right know with all of the AWB 65 Mopar kits I’ve been building lately. In my opinion the original box art is some of the best ever .
until next time , thanks for looking , MikeIMG_5603.jpeg.83da4e8ba13e8f3d36fb5e0b2b8c094e.jpegIMG_5605.jpeg.2288e96693d461bc70a78d6f2d936f63.jpegIMG_5604.jpeg.2cbe5fb2f57f1310b568356c3006b9ed.jpegIMG_5606.jpeg.208e776c6fd4f3074a760e03ecc33365.jpegIMG_5607.jpeg.abd3113804336786a0f5cd3d1ce112eb.jpegIMG_5608.jpeg.51a7bd857fa5c374522e3b663796ed22.jpegIMG_5610.jpeg.9bed8f2573aa9da0127701a163477461.jpegIMG_5609.jpeg.0143d2daa53a50b4fb82cba6431c9fb9.jpegIMG_5612.jpeg.1f5361b8260933bf97f4ab8e3e9f09c9.jpegIMG_5613.jpeg.f9ec94e26249a209633c20e39cd58649.jpeg

What a treasure this model must be for you, the decal patina, the cigarette smell, the dusty interior, a link to your father and a love for cool cars that you both shared. I have a few hand tools that my father etched his name onto using an electric engraving pen. They are old and worn, nothing special to anyone else but very special to me.

You should display this one Mike with all your beautiful SS builds, they belong together. Thanks for sharing.

I have to say this is my most favorite out of your "Building the Covers" series.  I have a great appreciation for the old survivors , and that your dad built this one makes it even better. How lucky you are to have had the enjoyment of building models with your dad.  Thank you for showing this one.
