Was out at the Hershey Car show for a few days. A vendor there had an earlier version of this kit that looked like it’s been in his damp basement for decades. He wanted $40 for it.  I guess he never heard of Ollie’s.

He was hoping the intrinsic value would bring that kind of money. I can imagine what the box looked(and smelled) like 🤮.  Always wanted to see Hershey 😕. Did you score anything for your 1:1s?

I spent more money on food then anything else. And with the prices that wasn't hard to do. Nothing for the 1:1's 🙁

Well, I hope you got some good pictures, Len. Is Hershey still pre-'48?

Nope, it's anything older then 25 years. So we are breaking into a new century.

I did get some research done.

Its unfortunate that Hershey is nolonger pre 48. I am going to one of the only pre 48 shows left around me, Tin Dusters in Quincy IL with my grandfather this weekend. I plan on taking a lot of research photos.

If you want me to snap any photos for you I can 😁.

Elliot, I think you may have read that wrong. Hershey accepts vehicles before 48. I would say there are probably 500 pre 48 cars at the show.

Nope, I read it right. I was saying its a shame that its not ONLY pre 48. Sometimes its nice to see only pre 48 at showes and not the other stuff, just a good change of pace.

It's been a long time for me but I recall post 48 was at Carlyle, right?

Yes, Carlisle is newer vehicles. Plus they do specific marque shows also.

Here's where I'm at with this one. As you know, this kit provides the chassis and fenders in one piece. This configuration presents a painting situation. I sprayed the bottom semi-gloss black...this car will be hoodless to show off the F.I. SBC.  The frame that shows needs to be glossy. It's a masking nightmare if I want the fenders a color other than black. So I just went black on the fenders and three coats of clear.  I'm not decided on body color yet but I kinda like the gray 🤔.

Yeah, those lights need lowering. I'm on it.  Thanks for not telling me.

Great looking build, engine looks sharp... I like the grey with the black fenders as well, actually!

Thanks, Jon. I do too. But I'm thinking a light yellow or mint green...maybe maroon. I won't know until 5 minutes before I paint. 🥴

A pastel shade of yellow or green would be nice, but a maroon or dark burgundy would be killer! Let the squirrels decide😜

Like the engine detailing. As for the body color, only my opinion, maybe something a little more exciting than Navy Battleship Gray for the body.

Really liking the color mash up that you have going right now, for whatever my two cents is actually worth. Nice job, beautiful engine work.

Createx has a Metallic Charcoal that would look good with the black(in the squirrel infested playground of my mind anyways)

Yup, nope. 😂

Thanks, David.  How about  Ford engine blue?

seems people forget that kit was originally molded in the early 60s as the "Little Deuce" and "updated" through out the years.

Well it's down to an Ollie's give-away now. Good fodder for bashers.

Thanks, Zack.  Dave can't be cool with the gray. Gotta decide on an actual color.

Now that would be fun, backdating one to the little deuce.

The stock headlight bar is evidence of the disregard for standard practices for early Ford hot rods. I found three dropped bars in my stash but they were all 1:25 and would not reach the holes. My only move here was make one.

I wish I had some smaller lights but this will do.

I found a few things in the stash that might find a home. Notice the roof anchors molded on the body. I'm glad I left them.  Yes it's a model A down top, so what. How 'bout the dash? Thanks for showing up once again ! 😀
