meechum68 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 So this one has been on the edge of building since I had started and finished the 3 kits I had in progress. ((I posted in Cars, and deleted all but the title)) I am going with a color shift paint job because why not, and staying pretty low on colors for this build. Should start some basic assembly tomorrow of running gear and engine. The cab of the truck is on another spinner drying, I didn't get a picture of it. So here is the sprue's all in primer. 4
meechum68 Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Yeah, pretty much a box stock build. Should be a fun little build. Was pretty heavy on flash, but not the worst. 2
meechum68 Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 Things in prime, some assembly done, will go back through the frame/suspension and do some painting. The engine gonna do a little of dirtying up,and then will add blower belt, and the fuel pump. The wheels are together and rear wheels dirtied up. I have a moon eye fuel tank.. hmmm gonna test fit that on the front clip and see if it will work. If so, then I am good. 3
SkylineGTR34 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Good morning, Michael 👋😉 I'll take a seat at your Datsun project and follow your build report. The start looks good. I'm looking forward to further progress. 😉👍 Best regards 👋 Eugen S. 1

Just doing a nice pretty much box build, but gonna spice up the chassis probably tonight. Will check the body and if it looks good after lastnight's prime, will lay the first coat of color shift down. 1
meechum68 Posted October 8 Author Posted October 8 A little detail work, and I had to do some touch up work on stuff I took off the sprue to get ready for assembly, and will have to do some spot detail stuff before assembly. I did get the front clip with it's paint on it... but I think I may have to give it a bath depending on how it dries. So no pic of that atm. 2
meechum68 Posted Friday at 01:58 AM Author Posted Friday at 01:58 AM Abit more work done. Cab is together... the front glass is a tricky bugger due to design. Got the ladder bars out of the purple pond, and same with the headers. Will prime the ladder bars/wheelie bars tomorrow and assemble the headers, and get them primed. Will shoot the headlights white, and do a little bit of detailing on the body tomorrow as well. And I just saw that the frame has a slight tweak after the fact. But I will just live with it since it's not horrible. (I do have a heat gun I can pin point heat on the frame and adjust.. I shall try that tomorrow night too!) 3
johnyrotten Posted Friday at 11:46 AM Posted Friday at 11:46 AM Colorshift paint looks great man👍👍. 1
meechum68 Posted Friday at 12:01 PM Author Posted Friday at 12:01 PM Thanks John! I wanted something kinda wild for it, and I this particular Colorshift I like and then here we are. 1
meechum68 Posted Sunday at 01:28 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:28 AM Some good work tonight at the bench, did some detail painting, flat cleared the wheels, so I can get the truck on its own wheels. will get ladder bars and wheelie bars on it tomorrow. Then have to final paint the headers, and set the engine and mount headers. So close to wrapping up this ole girl. And you can see how the tweaking went, not quite perfect this time, but I now know how to do the next ones. 2
meechum68 Posted yesterday at 12:32 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:32 AM Getting closer, tomorrow should be engine, headers, and drive shaft. And mounting the flip hood, and some touch up paint in the engine bay. 2
SkylineGTR34 Posted yesterday at 01:12 AM Posted yesterday at 01:12 AM (edited) Oh that will be a pro street truck. Excellent work. Greetings Eugen S. Edited yesterday at 01:13 AM by SkylineGTR34 1
