DRIPTROIT 71 Posted Monday at 11:33 PM Posted Monday at 11:33 PM In 1957 a theme park was opened in Blowing Rock NC called Tweetsie Railroad. It is still in operation today. The first steam engine was number 12. It was hauled to the site of the theme park by Moss Trucking in 1957. This will not be 100% accurate replica but more of a tribute build with creative license used. For one, Tweetsie is narrow gauge and the engine that I’m using is standard gauge, it is also a bit larger, so the lowboy will be slightly longer at about 42’. I don’t know what powered this truck, there’s a good possibility that it was gas, but this one will be 4-71 Detroit powered. The trailer will have to be scratch built. The cab is from our very own Brian Dutz, the steam engine is Bachman (I know G scale is supposed to be 1/22.5), 4-71 engine is from Jamie. I hope that I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew. Inspiration mock up I think the scale will pass. What do you guys think? 10
TopherMcGinnis Posted Tuesday at 12:36 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:36 AM This is AWESOME!!!!! I can't tell you how many times we visited Tweetsie growing up in the '70s & '80s. We took our boys there a few times. It's a real cool place. 2

BK9300 Posted Tuesday at 04:02 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:02 PM Great back story, and I agree with Gary - the trailer will be no problem for you. 2
Scott Eriksen Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Love them old Jimmys ,,these 2 at Island Dragway had 6V-53T's stuffed in them 4
Biggu Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago These old trucks had style and grace, amazing design work from back in the day, unlike the ‘cookie cutter’ units of today. This is such a cool build. I can’t wait for the up dates. I’m in the front row for sure
