The fitment of the windshield has been one issue with this kit form the beginning. The top edge of the windshield can be lightly sanded or remove the chrome foil from the upper mounting point and lightly scrape the roof mounting point to allow the windshield to drop into place.  Also check the grill as the back of the headlights usually hits the radiator support as well.

Thanks for the tip on the grill.  I tried sanding a windshield on another ki, but ended up causing a Crack, so I'll leave as is.
