Junkman Posted Saturday at 07:15 PM Posted Saturday at 07:15 PM The tooling somehow ended up in France in the 80s, and they were issued under the Heller and Airfix banners. Now these are coming back. 2
niteowl7710 Posted Sunday at 12:59 AM Posted Sunday at 12:59 AM Those were tooled up when Lesney owned AMT, so that tooling was probably done in the UK - or wherever Matchbox kits were tooled - and never left. Clearly all of that Lesney/Matchbox kit tooling still exists as the odd-scale airplanes have been reissued numerous times over the years.

AMT was not sold to Lensey until 1978. I have a 1975 AMT catalog that has the 1/43 truck kits listed and pictured. Pretty sure those were tooled up in the Troy Michigan facility. I remember having that wrecker kit back in about '75 when we lived in B.C. More then a 10 year old me could deal with at the time. Some of the kits may have been tooled up after the sale to Lesney but I really couldn't say. Edited 21 hours ago by Can-Con
