The tooling somehow ended up in France in the 80s, and they were issued under the Heller and Airfix banners.
Now these are coming back.

Those were tooled up when Lesney owned AMT, so that tooling was probably done in the UK - or wherever Matchbox kits were tooled - and never left. Clearly all of that Lesney/Matchbox kit tooling still exists as the odd-scale airplanes have been reissued numerous times over the years.

I'm not so sure about that. AMT not sold to Lensey until 1978. I have a 1975 AMT catalog that has the 1/43 truck kits and pictured. Pretty sure those were tooled up in the Troy Michigan facility.

There was a thread about these kits last year. I remember having that wrecker kit back in about '75 when we lived in B.C. More then a 10 year old me could deal with at the time.

Some of the kits may have been tooled up after the sale to Lesney but I really couldn't say.
