Jürgen M. Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Hello everyone, After having 'cheated' on the Big Rigs section to build the Chevy Task Force I'm back with a new build. It's not really a big rig but more than an SUV or pick-up! It's the micro bus from Convoy: My absolutely last and final Convoy build! I got a link to a 3D file from 3D cults of a similar bus when I was building the Chevy Task Force. Thanks Michael F. It is similar but still has to be changed here and there. These are some pics of the files contained in the download: And the changes I've made: Of course I'll have to print them as single parts since it would be too big in one piece. Besides that, the mirrors will be cut off and replaced by smaller round ones. All parts had/have to be changed in size. The downloads are too small. I will not put an engine inside since the hood doesn't open. The chassis I will take over from the Jeep TJ I had built last year and lengthen it. Axles and other parts I may need will either be box parts or self designed and printed! Wheels are designed because I didn't have any tires matching in size. Hope you enjoy the build! Biggu Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Let me be the first to comment ……….. VERY COOL!! There are some really great skills involved here …. design skills, re-designing, computer, printing, engineering, problem solving , scratch building and then basic model building. All that and a really cool subject. Will be watching this…..
Jürgen M. Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Thanks Pal! I do have to say in advance though that I will put most effort in the exterior painting which will be a real challenge since not all details are visible in the movie. I'll see what I can do. The editing of the downloaded files was tough enough having a computer which is technically absolutely not fit for that kind of task I still hope the main impression will be achieved. 1
Jürgen M. Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Wheels and the front are printed: The bumper broke off while removing the support structure. But it didn't break. 2
