michelle Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) i resin printed the two parts of the hull and used clay to sculpt the lake bed i brush painted the lake bed apple barrel matte khaki i brush paint the hull parts apple barrel matte tuscan red and apple barrel matte white and apple barrel matte black i used a crystal champagne glass to simulate the sound of 29 bell tolls by flicking the side with my finger as i could easily count out the 29 tolls as i flicked it the fitz went down with all 29 crew member on 10 november 1975 at around 7:30 pm est the last radio message to the ss arthur m anderson was we are holding our own going along like a old shoe around 7:20 pm est a within several minutes of that radio transmission they lost sight of the fitz's lights and lost radar contact the ship would be found a few days later and was found to be in two parts on the floor of the lake 530 feet or 161.544 meters bellow the surface there are plenty or theories as to what caused he to sink from hull damage from hitting 6 fathom shoals to the rouge waves known as the 3 sisters to the way the ship was tack welded together and was torn apart due to hogging or sagging all we do know for sure is it happened fast and the bow went down first due to the slide mark it left on the floor and the stern broke and sank upside down while bow section is sitting upright and the center section of the ship was torn into pieces at one point it was believed that both halves were on the canadian side but was then discovered that the bow section sat in us waters and the stern section sat in canadian waters this diorama i made to honour the 29 men lost that november night 50 years ago in 1975 Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.mp4 Edited 5 hours ago by michelle 1
