michelle Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago i based this diorama on the famous were are they? painting of the ss arthur m anderson and ss william clay ford searching for the fitz at 2:00 am est on the morning of 11 november 1975 which i will also include a picture of i resin printed the the two models of the ships and brush painted them apple barrel matte black and apple barrel matte white and apple barrel matte tuscan red i used clay to make the stormy waters and brush painted it apple barrel admiral blue and apple barrel matte white when the capt of the anderson bernie cooper decided to go back out to search and the capt of the ford donald erickson also joined him and the two boats went slowly at only a few knots as they left the safety of whitefish into gale force winds at around 10 pm est 10 nov it took them till 2 am est 11 nov to reach the location were the fitz was last known to be and started a search all they found were a couple damaged life boats from the fitz and other bits of debris no crew this diorama is tribute to those brave crews of these two boats who risked their own lives going back out into that storm to look for their missing fellow sailors The search for the fitz.mp4 1
