i know they did not use the xb falcon hardtops as highway patrol cars but i still created one
i merged a police light bar onto the roof of a xb falcon hardtop body in my slicer program
i printed the body in early oct and i painted and decaled it late october and built it in early nov
i painted the body rust oleum 2x gloss white
the interior parts and chassis came from my parts boxes
i had printed the rims and tires in early oct also
i painted the interior rust oleum 2x flat grey primer
i painted the chassis and tires rust oleum 2x flat black primer
i painted the rims rust oleum bright coat metallic aluminum
i used a apple barrel metallic silver acrylic ultra fine tip paint pen for the trim inside and out as well as the head lights and fog lights
i painted the indicator lights bellow the front bumper and the center section of the tail lights apple barrel gloss tangelo acrylic paint using a dead ultra fine tip sharpie
i painted the rest of the tail light apple barrel gloss real red acrylic paint using a dead ultra fine tip sharpie
i brush painted the tail light panel and the grille apple barrel matte black
i painted the horizontal black divider on the tail lights apple barrel matte black acrylic paint using a dead ultra fine tip sharpie

Your right, they never used the coupe in the Australian police forces but after seeing yours they definitely should have. Well done Michelle.

thank you i am surprised they did not use the different coupes/hardtops that all 3 chrysler, ford, holden made for the various highway patrol units
nsw could use the charger and vic could use the torana and later torana hatch and sa could use the falcons
qld could use the monaros and wa could use the escort and act could use the ford landau and  nt could use the utes made by any of the 3
and tas could use the leyland mini moke

That all sounds great but the mini moke may be a bit wrong for a police vehicle.

Let’s not be too hastie David, as a young guy who drove a few modified cars, and liked to test their limits back in the day, l would have loved it if the cops here in Tassie had Mini Mokes. Unfortunately for us who liked to push our luck, at one stage they had R31 Skylines ! 😁

Oh, and by the way Michelle, that is a nice looking XB Falcon patrol car. They did use 4 door versions, but I reckon, secretly they would have loved to be driving a hardtop!👍🏻

well with how tasmainia is alot more trees few long highways less speeders a mini moke would be perfect for a highway patrol vehicle since there is far more shade and coverage from the sun and i would think a mini moke could handle a bit more of the off road then a 2 door car could

thank you i knew they used the falcon and valiant and kingswood/monaro sedans as normal police cars  and they also used the falcon and valiant and statesman panel vans both to transport prisoners and to carry extra policemen if they needed them

The 4 door Falcons the police used were special order, basically 351 GT’s in a plain appearance. Surviving examples are highly sought after on the classic car market here in Australia.

i know one or two former police falcon sedans and one former taxi falcon sedan were used as the 3 main force patrol falcon sedans in the first mad max movie
