I was thinking on this yesterday and my reasonable choices are a 71 Nova, 2010 Mustang, 74 Maverick...but I think I am going to challenge myself and go with the Chevy HHR SS.  I think Jimmy Flintstone still sells a resin body but it will take some creative butchery to make it all work the way I want.

I've always had a thing for German and Japanese stuff and I bought or almost bought a lot of awesome mistakes like a $2000 Bentley that was more Bondo than steel or a $3500 BMW 635 that the dealer swore had a new engine and great original paint. *Spoiler alert: He lied.*                                                                                          Not to mention a Mustang and a Challenger that you could put your foot through the floorboard.
