ChainsawMike Posted November 17 Posted November 17 Anyone know or think we will get an Edsel reissue again from AMT??? really wish we could since it's such a unique looking car, and some new vintage style boxart would look lovely. As compared to the older release of the edsel pacer.
Carmak Posted November 17 Posted November 17 Short answer: If you are talking about the modern tooling 58 Edsel, I would speculate that we will see it again. If you are talking about any of the 58-60 Edsel annual kits, I would speculate it is very unlikely that we will see them again. 1
Carmak Posted November 18 Posted November 18 The modern tool version should not be hard to find at a reasonable cost.
espo Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I think Round 2 has reissued the AMT '58 Edsel kit a couple of times in the past. The kit still turns up at many show & swap meets. 1
bobss396 Posted November 19 Posted November 19 I'm sure I have some of the last '58 Edsels that were issued. The tooling was new, AFAIK. Sort of like like the '60 Fords that came out at the same time. I have seen the old Edsel annuals around, they fetch a good buck.
blizzy63 Posted November 20 Posted November 20 (edited) AMT/Ertl created and released their new-tooling '58 Edsel Pacer hardtop in 1999 (kit no. 30032) and it has been re-issued at least four times since. One was even a pre-painted 'Custom Shop' kit (30245). The last re-issue by Round2 was in 2018 (AMT-1087). I'm sure that one can easily be obtained from somewhere... Edited November 20 by blizzy63 1 1
