Resin 1:24th 1937 Zephyr and 1:24th 1949 Cadillac

I was looking at the above cars made by Jays Resin. I am thinking that a Revell 1940 would be a good donor for the Zephyr. I don't know what I could use as donor for the Cadillac because it is so long. Maybe one of the AMT Wildcat, Electra, Grand Prix or Bonneville could work with some chassis modifications?

I have both.  For the Zephyr, I'm looking at the AMT '40 Ford coupe, and for the Cadillac, planning to use the Revell Eldorod Cadillac for the chassis...to do something more stockfish, I might use the Revell '50 Olds 88.

I did find a built Eldorado for bid at $12.95 one on E-Bay

Ukrainian based Red Wheel Models (sold stateside by Iceman Collections) offers a fully detailed Curbside 1948 Cadillac Sedanette (less engine) and has a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr Coupé in the works. They’re close to $ 200 a piece, but beautifully detailed multi media kits.

Stopped by at Jay's Resin website. Do the bodies have separate chrome parts, like bumpers, grill and headlights, or is everything molded as one piece unit?

The Cadillac looks interesting. I've had a plan to build one a bit similar from the Foose Cadillac, but it basically would require backdating everything where Foose has touched back to old school. This body would be an easier starting point, but if all the chrome parts are molded in to the body, then it's not for me.

Nothing is plated, and the bumpers/etc are molded in.  These are very simple one piece shells, but nicely rendered.

No chrome I can handle, either Alclad or Revell's Chrome Spray will take care of that. But personally I don't want to deal with molded in everything.

The bodies look very well proportioned, though.
