Brutalform Posted Tuesday at 01:37 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:37 PM Can anyone tell me if the side molding that travels the length of the car, all have a red strip in it? Or were there other colors available?

Carmak Posted Tuesday at 03:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:16 PM Slightly off topic. I own a 67 Belvedere II 2drHT. It does not have the typical side molding you are showing. It has wheel lip moldings and rocker moldings. When I looked the car, I assumed the trim had been removed and the holes filled however looking in the trunk and inside the front fenders shows no evidence of holes being filled. I was confused as i thought the side molding was part of the Belvedere II model. This summer I was at the Des Moines Good Guys and saw another 67 without the side moldings and with the wheel lip and rocker moldings. It was an unrestored car, and it had a very interesting option, the Silver Special interior and top (pic below). The Silver Special was a Belvedere II only package. The Silver Special could be: A silver car with the special vinyl top and interior, the top and interior with any color, the top only or the interior only. The Silver Special also deleted the side molding and included wheel lip and rocker molding. When I dug into this package, I discovered it was a fairly common. Enjoy. 1

And thank you for replying and sharing the pics. I have seen a few in my searches that did not have the molding as well. A few were the GTX version, and if I am correct, would not have it. I’m planning a build converting a GTX into a plain Jane Belvedere RO23. I hope to find bench seats from a supplier. Maybe Harts Parts? At least the kit body has the sail panel moldings cast in it already.

That could be a source for you.

But the Harts bench seats will match the rear seat that’s in the Revell GTX kit. I don’t mind removing and grafting a more correct looking rear seat to make a Belvedere. I’m going to have to take a look in my stash to see if I have a RR seat. I might get lucky and find a front and rear.
Brutalform Posted Tuesday at 06:50 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:50 PM I just realized the 70 RR is 1/24 scale. If the seats look good enough, might be a bit too large to use.
johnyrotten Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM (edited) I realized that after posting. I also noticed the "emblem" in the center of the seat backs seems wrong on those. These are the kit seats, I modified the headrest to be adjustable rather than molded in. Edited yesterday at 12:07 AM by johnyrotten 1
gtx6970 Posted yesterday at 12:18 AM Posted yesterday at 12:18 AM Im pretty sure the mldg had, red, white or black in them , Not 100% though As far as the bench seat https://www.ebay.com/itm/226898568646 https://www.ebay.com/itm/226816604362

I just requested combined shipping from that seller. Didn’t you use the bench seat from Harts on your white Belvedere build?
Brutalform Posted yesterday at 12:59 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:59 AM Possibly the Grotheer car?

Yes I did But the shape of the seat is NOT accurate to a 1967 Belvedere . As the belvederes back seat DID NOT have that same sunk in center like the GTX did Plus the pattern isnt even close . But it was the only thing I could find with a reasonable search effort IF I were to do another 67 Belvedere conversion build. I will take a good look at trying to use the above 3d printed seats instead. The pattern is a little different . But the shape is more accurate to my eyes I have his entire interior conversion on hand for another build Ive got planned If one were to go the 3d seat direction, It will require a hand made pkg tray Edited yesterday at 02:50 PM by gtx6970 1
