Mike 1017 Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I just built the Testors San Francisco Cable Car. I have never come across a kit that has so many warped pieces. I started a search for Cable Car Kits and found this site. One of these is going to be on my Santa's Gift List. Mike OcCre. Model ship, model train and tram.
Bugatti Fan Posted Saturday at 08:01 PM Posted Saturday at 08:01 PM (edited) That Testors kit was originally made by Hawk. 1/48 th scale I believe. Occre make a nice series of Tram kits in 1/24th scale and will be considerably larger than that old plastic kit. The Occre kit is made from laser cut ply wood, strip woods and metal parts. So a bit of a big departure from anyone's comfort zone of they are only used to working in plastic. There will be a lot of wood filling and cutting involved, but working in wood and metal as an alternative to plastic can be a very rewarding experience. The Occre company mainly produce ship kits, but their Trams and Locomotive kits look good. Their very latest 1/24th scale team kits are a London Tram, Buenos Aires Tram and a New Orleans Street Car. They have a very good website. Edited Saturday at 08:02 PM by Bugatti Fan
