paint question

I need some help here. some of you will notice that I am a newbie here, and am building one of my first models. I want it to look really good, but not sure exactly how to paint it. As far as primer, sanding, painting, polishing. Can some of you folks out there give me some ideas on how you've done your rigs? thanks!

What is your budget? Will you be using spray cans or an airbrush.What are you building?

right now im building a 69 dodge challenger daytona. airbrushing black and red. i have a small budget, but am willing to go all out for this one
