gtx6970 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Another FINALLY out of the box, finished and in the case after far far too many years in storage Painted this one I think at least 10 years ago with Dupli color rattle can lacquer. It crazed the surface just enough I was not happy and put it away. Until a few months ago. What was supposed to be a simple out of the box / curbside build turned into an upgrade with the modern Lindberg chassis swap. The finish is A LONG WAY from perfect . But dang it if it didnt turn into a cool looking car on the shelf Comments or criticisms are very much appreciated and more than welcome. Thanks for looking in Edited 11 hours ago by gtx6970 1
gtx6970 Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago (edited) They say its a fine line between bravery and stupidity. Well, I decided to see just how fine. And made , and glued in some quarter windows to make it a sedan body. Using a spare body I have, took some tape to the inside of the body and drew out the shape and transferred that to some clear acetate sheet. Painted some small sprue pieces in a color pretty close to the body. I do NOT recommend this to anyone I held my breath the entire time . Good thing I used clear Elmers glue JUST in case I screwed it up I felt like I had a chance to correct it. So, with Fingers crossed dove in. NOW its done and up in my case Edited 5 hours ago by gtx6970 1
Trainwreck Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Nice to see this one cross the finish line, Bill. So what's next? Edited 6 hours ago by Trainwreck 1
M W Elky Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago It really captured the early super stock look just right . It makes me wish I would have stashed a few johan 62 dodges away when they were cheap. 1

Ace-Garageguy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Looks real good. Funny...I used to think that was one of the ugliest cars anybody ever put on wheels. I bought a decent one with some big 2bbl V8 lump for $65 way back in about '1977, traded it even for a clean '67 VW Westphalia camper. Sure would like to have it now...
