Nick F40 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 (edited) This is what I think is cool sit back, turn it up, and enjoy! a couple more for enjoyment. Renault Turbo 1976, what's the high pitched the sound? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vs3F4zFp5c...feature=related BRM V16 does anyone make a kit of either? I think I remember a Matra RC car. sfhess Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I got to hear the Ligier V-12's run at Long Beach one year when they revived the engine (between running Cosworths and before the Turbo era for Ligier). The sound was incredible. Musical and borderline painful. It was wonderful! High-pitched whistle from the Renault Turbo was, I think, some sort of bypass thing that helped reduce turbo lag to some degree.
Nick F40 Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) Yeah, I thought some of you might like them, the real era in F1. I have some great US GP videos but need to find some I love this video, Brabham BT46 at Zolder one of my favorite tracks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwOGB8eg8t4 and for the US GP fans Edited May 28, 2009 by Nick F40
935k3 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 That first vidoeo of the Matra reminds me of Mr. Ferrari once said "there is a music in the noise", how true.
Modelmartin Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 There are lots of great sounding engines out there but here is my fave! The Renault whistle could be the pop-off valve but I vote for the brakes.
Nick F40 Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) Ohhhh yes, Lotus and BRM, oh yeah, probably one of the greatest combos. I think i'd pick that over a Ferrari F1 V12 or the Cosworth V8 maybe. I posted a BRM video in my first post, pretty much the same. Edited May 29, 2009 by Nick F40
