sigmaman Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 (edited) Hi,fairly new here and havn't posted a finished model until now. Couldn't decide and my tastes are quite varied,so I'll post up several different ones over the next few weeks. On with the show. I used the three kits above to build this one Combined this kit with Fujimi's RE Amemiya RX7 and Aoshima's C-West kit to make one model.I grafted in the bonnet from the Fujimi kit as well as using the seats and the JGTC style rear wing. The RE Amemiya AW7 wheels are made seperate by Fujimi in their wheel packs. The headlamps are from the Aoshima C-West RX7.The colour is custom made orange pearl in Glasurit 2PAK COB.I tinted the tail light panel with Tamiya smoke. The bonnet, rear wing and mirrors are painted in Tamiya gunmetal.I added a white faced tacho to the top of the steering column. The intercooler is made from Evergreen raiload ribbed plastic and flat plastic sheet. Swany Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Looks great. Whats the easiest way to change wheel offset/camber?
stump Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Tristan, that looks superb mate, great work.. plus two thumbs up from here... My favourite RX-7 style ever....and I'm hoping to do a similar body kit on my 1/12 version...... Thank you for sharing with us man. cheers Greg
Len Geisler Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Nice build......This is the type of tuner I can dig.....Awesome.....
randx0 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 looks sweet and the paint is so nice it almost looks like a larger scale good job lets see what you do with the other kits you took the pieces off.
sigmaman Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 (edited) looks sweet and the paint is so nice it almost looks like a larger scale good job lets see what you do with the other kits you took the pieces off. The C-West kit I sold off as all I wanted was the lights. The green one was a rubbish kit anyway so it became a parts donor. Swany,I modified the Fujimi wheels by cutting out the receivers for the polycap and fitted pins like the Tamiya and most Aoshima wheels have. I'm building another one for the drift car challenge and next time I post some WIP I'll detail some other tricks there. Also if you buy certain versions of the Aoshima RX7's the jobs 3/4's done.
