Lawton is a long way from anywhere. a good 45 miles from Witchita Falls. There use to be a club in Witchita Falls years ago but I lost all contact with them. I think the guy's name that was head honcho was Jim Wilshire. Good luck it's a bummer being a modeler in a one horse town. You may get lucky and find some guys at Ft. Sill that would be interested. Down side of that is that it will be hard to give the club roots as in long time members because they rotate out of there so soon. However you may find that the Army has a office that would be able to assist you by telling new troops about your club as they provide welcoming packages of things to do in the area.

Good luck

I would love to join a a club. I live west of Ardmore. I would not mind the drive just to meet up with people with the same interests. So you bet I am interested, let me know.

Sounds like Wichita Falls could be a focal point for this group, at least they have a Hobby Lobby. It is 55 miles from me. There is a hobby shop just outside the gate at Altus AFB in Altus, OK. They specialize in R/C stuff but they have paint and a few car kits. My wife works at the air base but is clueless about model stuff.

There is a hobby shop in Childress, TX that specializes in plastic, and has over 800 kits and decent prices. Shipping charges are reasonable too. Reach them at samshobbies@hotmail.com

Keep me up to date,
