jjsipes
Since receiving my Revell 09 Challenger, I have worked non-stop on it. I had purchsed paint and decals prior to getting the model kit to build a model of my 1:1. I am going to use Pegasus Torqs with the tires from the AMT Challenger. Here is what I have so far. I am waiting to get some more clear and less humid weather to clear it and then I can finish it. What do you think? diymirage
that colour is a pretty good looking match and i love the rims on the 1:1 they are perfect for that car
jjsipes
Thanks diymirage. The paint is actual touch-up paint that I paid over $20.00 for a 12 oz. can using the paint code on the 1:1. As far as the 1:1 everyone ask me about the color, strips and wheels and they look in amazement when I tell them I ordered it from Dodge the way the sits. Gets a lot of looks. caine440
I love them both. Hoping when things turn around economically, to look for a 6 speed R/T. I think even my wife likes the idea
Johnman
Very nice work. I just ordered the Torred (called competition red, I think) spray touch-up paint to replicate my SRT.
Harry P.
I'm jealous! I want your 1:1!!!
jjsipes
harrypri you and a lot of others. I must admit, it is a very nice car. I get stopped everywhere I go in it. I just cleared it today, will try and finish the replica this week. Will post pics upon completion. Very nice kit. Could have done a few things different though. The rear has a metal axle that runs thru the spindals and diff instead of having axel shafts like the Testors Chargers. Same suspension on the real cars, not sure why Revell chose this way to do it. RodneyBad
Awesome 1:1 and the model looks just as good. Love the R/T stripes.
janositamas
What do we think? We think you are lucky to have that beauty in 1:1! On the other hand, good job so far with the model kit replica, keep it up!
jjsipes
Cleared on Sunday, spent about 45 mins. rubbing it out tonight. Next up trim. Used Testors Model Master Lacquer Clear and it darkened to color.
jjsipes
Getting closer to finishing. Need to add front fender and grille emblems from '70 Challenger photo-etch pieces. Need to touch up trim, rubbed black paint off handling model. Tried black trim foil, didn't care much for it. To much shine and it rubbed off as well. Seem like it was more brittle then the regular chrome foil from Bare-Metal. Then a final clean-up. Revell did a great job with this kit. Everything went together with no problems. Next up to try and modify one into the super stock verison. Not sure when I will get to that one. Have some other cars in line first.
