Jim, That's comin out KOOL! The tires FILL the rear wells PERFECTLY! The fronts match perfectly too. Funny how you can still keep ALL the parts with it together after all these years! B) An old high school sweetie had a brandy new 71 Maverick Grabber, 3-sp,anna 6. It was pretty quick for a 6, 279,or 300 Cubes or somethin like that.It looked nice, had the stripes an tailpanel blackout an hood. Her Dad put a Mach 1 Hoodscoop on it an it REALLY looked mean, Babysh8t Yellow color an all! Kinda like a Maverick Mach 1! :);)

Nice job on fading from the yellow into red. The flames look good.

You sure can see the family resemblance to the Pinto in those front fenders and headlights. It's interesting to look at cars 20 or 30 years after their prime. Some designs withstand the test of time, others don't fair so well. I don't think I appreciated the nice clean design of the Maverick back in the day.

It's beautiful! I've been trying to find a good maverick model for some time now and all I can find are funny cars and a metal body basic builder one (I just finished one, it was missing pieces so I had to use a non matching wheel and I had to cut out the I6 to fit a v8, pain in the butt). Where can I get one of these kits?

I'm interested because my car now, my first car (bought it last summer from my brother when I was 14), is a 74 Maverick.

Darwin, unless someone pops it in resin, you are outta luck. Those rascals go for quite a few pennies when they're built, an UNBUILT one would REALLY set cha back! That's a shame too, caz the lil Comet Pro-Stocker seems to be alot more common. I see the Comet at reasonable prices,40 to 50 bucks unbuilt, but the Maverick goes for TWICE that much!

I have one of each from from the original issues,an a second Comet I got atta toyshow about 5 years ago I paid 35/40 bucks then, an the last Maverick I saw in Nov.of last year was 120.00, so them rascals ain't cheap!!! That'sa shame too, caz I think It'd be a real good seller!

I agree, the Maverick was actually a very nice looking little car...still looks modern even today. Nice job on yours, it's a model we don't see built too often.
