flatheadgary Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 when i was a young lad, around the '60's, some friends took me to the sand dunes. most of them were v8's back then. the light weight and waterless cars hadn't caught on yet. the v8's were really crude with just a car frame, seats and drive train. someone finally built a tube frame rail and i really liked them. in the '80's a friend sold me some huge tires and rims and i have been thinking about something like this ever since.
Bernard Kron Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Really neat, cool , and imaginative. I especially like the detail in the area where people sit (don't know what else to call it - the "cockpit" maybe except it's so exposed) and at the front end. Ultra-functionality at its finest!
Foxer Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 those must have one huge power-weight ratio!! Looks cool..!
RodneyBad Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Cool looking Sand rail.. Looks like a hairy ride.. Nice work.
84vanagon Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Very cool, Gary. I have a late 50's Hot Rod that featured them. Spot on!
