ronr Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) Started with 2 MRC kits and combined them to make a double bay station. Added the missing exterior walls with .040 styrene. Base and side walk areas are durham`s rock hard putty. Tree is California Silver Sage Brush I got from a friend on another forum. Concrete paint was made from a color sample , and mixed at Home Depot. I made the station floor and the interior walls from .125 PTEG Plastic. Fence is bass wood stained with oak & Walnut stain. Grass and shrubs are Woodland Senic products. The wrecker is a diecast that I disassembled repainted and weathered. Still have a long way to go and a lot of detais to add, people and such, Hope you enjoy. Shooting for a finished Dio by the Atlanta show. Edited November 2, 2009 by ronr

Barbo Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Hi...ronr...I like the way you are working with the Texaco diorama. I also built one a few years ago. This is my version....I hope you like it.....Above and Beyond....Barbo

Eshaver Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Ron , very interesting additional details there . I sure would love to know how you ever constructed that inncorrect lift though . I wound up giving up on it and built a better more correct lift for the one I did . Ed Shaver
ronr Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 I dont like the lift either Ed......I`ll probaly modify it before I`m finished.......I did remeber one thing that was missing.......A discared tire pile:
ronr Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 Just a few updates; Modified the lift, finished the compressor, added outside lights and an old rusty coupe sent to me from Australia. Geeze...........I wish those guys would flush the john and unplug the drop light when the are done.
Sixties Sam Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Wow! Incredible detail! Very well done. You even have two restrooms. I assume the one with the toilet seat up is the men's room! Someone must have done a Dukes of Hazzard jump to bust up the front end on that rusty old coupe!
ronr Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Getting close to being finished, added: vent pipes for gas storage tanks, meter box and weather head, lights to the over head I-Beams, gas pumps, oil cans, welder, lube man, shed over air compressor, and out side water hose. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b68/RonR1025/Dioramma/_A101219.jpg[/img
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Man that thing sure is lookin good Ron. Have you kept track of the time you have invested in it.
Eshaver Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Ron , nice to see that you're paying attention to some of the advice I'm trying to pass along . I looked at the lift very closely I might add. Well done ! I think you have captured the essesence of a " Teauge " station very nicely . Ed Shaver
ronr Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 (edited) Thanks Ed. Now its down to the small details, I can tinker with them until November. Bill I have no idea how many hrs I have in it. I guess 3-4 hrs a day since I started it. If I had to guess, I would say around 3-4 hundred hrs. Edited October 11, 2009 by ronr
