Ever since I had seen the MPC Jenkins vega I hated it . So I made a set of resin quarter panels to solve the problem . Now I can fix all the 1972 Vegas I have .

thanks Chuck

Chuck, I have an original MPC Grumpy's Toy Vega, and IT'S quarters are perfect! Are you sure you don't have a repop of that Vega kit from a few years ago with those butchered up wheelwells? I know for a FACT mine is an original kit. But thoses new ones you have sure look good enough to be worth cuttin my kit up to convert it! Yours actually look more accurate than the stock wells on my kit! :):lol:

I have an original and a friend of mine has one that he bought new back in the early 70s, and both of ours has that hogged out round rear quarters.

I did the same thing as you, years ago to make the master for a resin body I use to sell. I took a cast from the wheel wells of the later MPC USA-1 75 Vega Pro Stock and graft the resin ones on the body I was making. Only thing I did a little different was I lowered my wheel wells down to give a little more space between the quarter windows and the top of the well. It makes the big tire look more tucked up there. I would post a pic but I do not want to hi-jack your thread.

I have got to say, you did a fine job and improved the looks of that body by 110%. Nice work. Looking forward to seeing it done.

Keep on with it.

I'm about to do a full detail of the Vega.

What do any of you guys have for reference photos?

I did a web search and got a couple but it seems there are not many out there.

Personal stash?

What Vega are you wanting to do? If you are talking about doing a Jenkins' Vega. There were 3 and they were all very different.

I see the differences. I am going to do the 1974 car.

I have the Comp Resins hood scoop coming. I have a Twister Vega coming. I have the decals, although I'm going to paint the brick red portions.

I have what I need. I do have a few pix of the motor with the black valve covers which is the "74" car.

Just some interior shots, perhaps some other motor shots.

Any help is Muy appreciated
