Nick Winter Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Well here's my snap-tite, a Revell Snap-tite 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible, with my kinda twist. A drag car. I cut the hood open, and hinged it, replaced the seat with a drag seat, made a roll bar, painted it, started converting the suspension to fit my chevy 350 w/ turbo 400 tranny, and rear slicks, me being a cunning man no pic's will be posted until it's finished.
Nick Winter Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Ok well I finished from Snap-tite to just right. Kit I started with Body, and interior after paint After some re-assembly
Nick Winter Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 After just sitting it on the body Frame completed and slicks fitted under the little vette
Nick Winter Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Well it ain't pertty, but it's way better, give me some feedback, Nick
B_rad88 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 well i already told you this, but that looks sweet! i don't think i can convert a curbside to a full detailed! even if was handed a book on how-to! lol!!!!! thats a nice job you did!
george 53 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Nick, ANY conversion from a snapper to a full,or even semi-detailed model is an effort. Ya coulda dun a little neeter job on the paint,(we used to call that color Baby sh8t Yellow, on 71 Ford Pinto's!) but the conversion went well. Just goes ta show wat ya can do with enuff conviction!
FujimiLover Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 If you don't mind me saying, great conversion and all. Plus! I think the paint's finish goes well with the car's era. Look's like an old Vette that's been sitting in the sun to long and the paint started to peal. I like it!

FujimiLover Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Also look's like rust in the engine lid's gap's there!
Nick Winter Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Also look's like rust in the engine lid's gap's there! thought it gave some character to it.
roadhawg Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Thanks. Thanks, i actually did the paint that way on purpuse to resemble bondoed and rusted area's painted over. Lets say its bondo, since fiberglass Corvettes don't rust! Lol! Very interesting build, especially since you started with a snap kit. I actually like that color....what is it? That would look good on a '50 Ford pickup I'm planning. Oh...one more thing......thats not a Turbo 400, its a Turbo 350.

Well yep I knew that I was just trying to find a good word to describe it. Thanks. Uh it's let me look here, Rust-Oleum, Painter's Touch, multi purpose, paint, Khaki- Kaki, N2005. It would be nice on a Ford F-1, Actually it is a Th400 Not Th350
roadhawg Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Actually it is a Th400 Not Th350 ok...its a Turbo 400 with a Turbo 350 pan on it. Lol!
