jjsipes Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Here are a couple of pictures of the Revell 1949 Mercury that I build shortly after it came out. Colors are HOK Pearl White and Testors Plum Crazy.
MrObsessive Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I'm not much into customs, but that is beautiful!! Testor's Plum Crazy huh?............I have to give that paint a try as it looks to be very solid and not transparent looking like their other paints! Excellent work!!
Janne Herajärvi Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I really like this! Nice smooth colors. Great job
Raul_Perez Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 ...Testor's Plum Crazy huh?............I have to give that paint a try as it looks to be very solid and not transparent looking like their other paints!... I've used it and was impressd with how well it covers. In fact, all of the Testors lacquer colors that I;ve used covered really well. very nice! i think the Buick side trim has alot to do with changing the slab sided appearance of this kit. very nice paint detailing too!... I agree...the Buick side trim really adds a new dimension to the Merc!! Thanks for sharing,
jjsipes Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 very nice! i think the Buick side trim has alot to do with changing the slab sided appearance of this kit. very nice paint detailing too! that Plum Crazy looks alot darker than normal? did you use the older enamel or the lacquer from recently? Dave I believe it was the enamel that I airburshed (?). Don't recall 100% since it has been a little while.
beefheart22 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 The color is perfect for the Merc. Looks like it belongs in a ZZ Top video.
