Want to help with my monster truck?

One of my projects nearing it's head is to build my very own monster truck (model, but wouldn't a real one be saweeeet?!) and I don't want to just use the Bigfoot body that comes with it and paint it nice, I want to do something different.

The Monster truck will be called "Carpe Demon" but other than that I am drawing blanks.

I need to find a body, any kind of body, preferably truck or SUV but something to use.

I thought about using a Snake Bite, but those are so hard to find and I would really rather build Snake Bites as the different Snake Bites we've seen through the years. Not to mention if I used a Snake Bite it would just look like a repainted Snake Bite, not Carpe Demon.

So anyone out there have some really interesting ideas at all?

The closest one I have is to use the Dodge Sidewinder and make some adjustments, but I'm a little worried that the truck is too showy.

Also:

I am not sure if I want to stick with my Race team colors, rich blue, orange, and bright green or if I should play off the Demon and make it look like it came from hell.

Again just throwing ideas around for the prep phase. Any words will be welcomed

I'd go with an Escalade body.

How about a resin Dodge Demon body in plum crazy with the Dodge Demon pitch fork character on the hood and sides. Pair of dual header pipes out the hood, or flip them and turn them to run under the door like side pipes maybe.

Well, I googled "Carpe Demon" and it came back with the adventures of a demon hunting soccer mom. So I guess any Soccer mom type vehicle would work. I also tried to translate it from latin, it came up with "seize the show" or "To pluck to prove" Roughly.

Demon as in monster, in Latin would be:

everto, eruo, adnihilo according to the translator that I used.

I am actually going to do two things thanks to you guys! hehe (so excited)

First: Carpe Demon

I always loved Dan Patrick's Samson with the arms on the hood of the truck, I love any special fiberglass Monster truck honestly. So I am going to have one hand reaching to the front of the hood (very Samson style) holding a Skull where the headlight should be. I think I am going to use a Dodge pickup. I really wish they made Toyota truck model kits.

For the grill I will fabricate a literal grill (teeth) for the mouth.

On the cab I will have horns coming back and extending past (kinda look like a Razerback a little bit)

Horns will be black, the parts of the demon will be red, there will be some flames and I think perhaps some green to contrast a little (not sure where exactly)

Secondly: The Dragon Wagon

This will be an SUV vehicle with some serious Dragon influenced "fiberglass" addons. This will be primarily Blue and Green with some orange accent. Hehe. So excited. I really wish they made Toyota truck kits

Additionally I must ask... I found some 1/20th scale models and I think these could work for a shell of a monster truck considering they are distorted from their true nature. When you look at the F150 body that comes in a Bigfoot kit and look at an F150 regular the Bigfoot body is much bigger, so does anyone know if a 1/20 would actually work better by chance cause that'd be great!

I think I am going to use a Dodge pickup. I really wish they made Toyota truck model kits.

Aoshima makes a small variety of 80s thru mid 90s Toyota truck bodies including a 4-Runner.

Isn't the only difference between the Demon and the Duster the grill? I may be wrong, but it seems like that is... and maybe the rear light panel.

They are two different cars that share the same chassis. The grill, and tail light panels are different and so are the fenders and body lines. While the fenders, hood and doors will physically swap, the body lines wont match up with anything. And it was changed to the Dart Sport after a couple years because of the south and the bible belt complaints. The Dart uses a header bar in front of the hood and different body lines so they don't swap with a Duster either.

Here is the final decision:

Carpe Demon: will be a Studebaker Starlight

Draggin' Dragon: will be a Studebaker Funny car.

This was after hours of searching ebay and stumbled across these resin bodies and I think they work the best!
