For those who may be interested in adding some very realistic detail to their trucks, Plano Model Products offers stainless steel, photo etch "scratchbuilders" screen in three different patterns.

There is the "Morton" pattern that has hundreds of tiny round holes.

The "Apex" pattern that has hundreds of tiny rectangles and perfectly replicates the real grille sreen on older Peterbilts, Freightliners and Kenworth's and just recently released, just for us truck builders is the "Peterbilt oval" screen. This new screen perfectly replicates the Peterbilt oval type screen found on most all newer Peterbilts. It could also be used on a Ford truck for a custom touch as the oval resembles the Ford oval as well!

Each sheet is approx. 2" X 8". Each sheet costs 12.50 with 3.50 shipping per order. I'm not sure how many sheets can be sent for this 3.50 shipping price though?

I will do my best to post a picture here but I always have trouble getting them to load? If it doesn't work, i'll be happy to email pictures to anyone interested.

Dag Wicker, you have only been a member sice 2008? I thought had been on here longer. I ordered some of the oval and recieved it several weeks ago. Nice stuff for the accurately anal modeler.

Would this "Apex" patern be correct for a T600, or only the older W900s?

Hey Jim, I just went and looked at a T600 pic and they appear to have very thin vertical fins crossing round horizontal cooling tubes that reside just inside the grille surround. I think if you were to use the Apex pattern in a vertical fashion, as opposed to using it horizontally for a Peterbilt, you could achieve a very convincing grille!

Hey Charles, yea, I don't stray away from MTDG too much.
