FujimiLover Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Hello there. Has anybody seen this? I just registered for this web site that has anything/everything to do with cars and they are offering a free 1/18 scale model of a Hemi engine. I just registered and got a free motor! Now we'll have to wait and see if I actually receive one! Please see here. http://www.gomotorbids.com/index0.cfm I'll have to find the actual link to the free engine advertisement. I did this for a friend of mine who is in the UK and offer does not apply to them.
Foxer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 (edited) The offer is legit. I got one to see how it is. It's not a bad engine, thou is 1/18 and not much use to me. Liberty Classics makes this and lists it for $37, so not a bad deal. Seems a bit overpriced at that cost. Here's a link to the engine you get. Edited September 16, 2009 by Foxer
FujimiLover Posted September 16, 2009 Author Posted September 16, 2009 (edited) Thank's Foxer. I just received e-mail confirming my $0.00 purchase order of the Hemi engine. We'll see how long it takes for it to arrive. Is it a big box? I'm wondering what it'll cost to ship it to my UK friend. Edited September 16, 2009 by FujimiLover
Foxer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 (edited) The shipping was a little over $2 in the states. Not sure how they handle Europe. Box was 11" x 5.5" x 5" high and was well padded... it's still sitting here. Came by first class US Mail and didn't take very long. Edited September 16, 2009 by Foxer
B_rad88 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 i just looked at the site and i didn't see anything about a free engine? where did you see that at?
Foxer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 You have to register then go to "Pay and Ship" link. Think it shows up there as free order.
forthlin Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I registered a couple weeks ago & got my Hemi in less than a week. There was no charge.
Foxer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 nope, it doesnt Register for the site then follow the link in my previous post to the engine. I had to fish around for it, it came up with the free offer. Don't think I can help much anymore. I have no idea how long this offer was for.
FujimiLover Posted September 16, 2009 Author Posted September 16, 2009 It seemed to work for me, so only time will tell if I actually get one.
Custom Hearse Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Dang! I've had an account for 3 years, so I don't get the free Hemi...
B_rad88 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 hey i just registerd, and nothing, i checked the engine, and it says i have to bid on it! so yeah, how did you guys get the engine?
Harold Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Well, thanks for the tip. We'll have to see what happens, eh?
Harry P. Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Can there be any more useless scale for this engine? Too big to fit in a model, too small to display alone.
FujimiLover Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 All I know is my UK-based friend wanted one but they wouldn't ship it to him. So when I get it in the mail, I'll turn around and ship it to him. Now if it was a Lamborghini or Ferrari engine, that would be sweet!
FujimiLover Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 WOW! That was quick! My engine arrived today! A lot smaller than I expected so it should be inexpensive to ship to UK!
Buildsince93 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I got mine a few weeks ago i agree it is a pretty useless scale but it was free so i cant complain maybe i'll just ad some detail to it
