vizio93 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 nice job on that 32 man. i love the yellow and black color scheme.
oldscool Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the comments everyone. Built this one as a quick no stress job. Only things not from the box are the steelies from the AMT 60 Corvette kit and the scratchbuilt thermostat housing and radiator hose. Made some subtle changes that arent really noticable at first glance. Adjusted the angle of the body on the frame which required chopping up the firewall. If built unaltered the body sits lower in the back than in the front and this just would not do! Moved the front axle forward a little along with the radiator. lowered the radiator as it should never sit higher than the top of the cowl IMO. It really should be sectioned though as a speed bump would take out the bottom of the grille shell. Also should move the headlights forward too. Built it as a low budget backyard job would have been done by using what is at hand. It is crying out for some finned brake drums but I dont have any. I split the front wishbone just like they did the real thing - cut the balljoint off the rear and carefully bent the rods out until they could be attached to the frame rails. Olskoolrodder Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) I got one of these free this past week with 1/2 a top chop done on it (the first half...it's been cut off,and porly at that-but hey,it was free ) ,so I'm just starting this one, myself (oddly,I've never buildt one of AMT's Dueces ),so I especially like yours! I think it looks great, especially for such a simple build (as stated)! Kool color combo too! Edited September 27, 2009 by Olskoolrodder
