Rich Cummings Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 The Las Vegas Kit Kruisers recently had a club project where members each built an '07 Shelby GT500 in different ways. We did this to show the public that one kit could be built in many different ways. The Kit Kruisers came up with 18 ways to build it. They were all displayed together along with an unbuilt but opened kit. I was chosen to build the NASCAR version. LVZ2881 built the drift version and posted it under glass here. I couldn't figure out how to build a COT out of this thing. I figured that it would be easier to build a modified out of it. I cut the front end off and radically trimmed a NASCAR Thunderbird frame to fit under it. I scratchbuilt the interior sheetmetal and rollcage. I bent up a front hoop to contain the motor and front shock mounts. The wheels are modified ASA wheels and I have no idea where the two back tires came from. The fronts are from a NASCAR and an Indy car. The front and rear bumpers came from the '34 Ford modified and the rear was altered with styrene rod. The side bars are square styrene and aluminum rod. This was one of those projects that I dreaded starting. Once I got going, it turned out to be a lot of fun and a great learning experience. It was also one of those projects that kept begging for more detail. Now for the going back on the workbench part. Two minutes after that picture was shot, I was moving the background and not watching the car. I managed to break the rear bumper, front end, an A arm and snap the rearend out of place. This car is supposed to be in the IPMS Best of the West show on Saturday. Can anyone tell me what I need to do so that my pics show up full size?
Foxer Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Looks good ..sorry about the bump. ;( Uploading directly to the forum will always display them as a thumbnail. Most of us put photos to a photo site such as Photobucket which makes it easy to paste the link directly in the thread and it will display much larger, even when reduced.
LVZ2881 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Ah Rich!!!! thats sucks!!! that thing turned out great too!!! use your Fotki site to host the photos and use the "image" button right above where you post to link the images from your site..thats what i do, but I use Photobucket..
